I'm 17 years old and I really enjoy playing games on the computer. My grades are still good and I can handle it, but at the time I bought a laptop for my confirmation and it was reaching its limits. I have an account that I can access when I'm 18 and that has x-thousand euro on it. I would like to ask my parents if I can withdraw around 800 euro to build a desktop computer that can then be upgraded. Unfortunately, I don't know how to start the conversation or something, do you have any ideas?
"Mom, Dad, can I get a PC?"
I don't know what makes your parents tick, but I would just sit down with them and talk about it, and how you say it, and possibly also arguments like, then I can work better for the school and bring it to you
Show them the question here…
and maybe the price of a gaming PC from Media Markt (even if they are not ideal, but parents trust a chain more than if you present one that you have built yourself). They see that 800 euro for a gaming PC is nothing (it is even more of the lowest price bracket).
Ideally, you know which PC you want and show them how much it costs if you get the parts individually and assemble them yourself and how much the same, e.g. At Media Markt it would cost more. In this way, you are more likely to highlight the money you will save - and because you have to build it yourself, you will even learn something
Thank you, but I have now started to trust my computer skills a little, I also built my brother's computer, but that is definitely not a bad idea
