Tax return as a student, cancel travel costs?

So I went to a tax seminar today and it explained how to deduct costs from being a student. But somehow I was probably not very attentive while listening, because some things escaped me.

One mainly differentiates between advertising costs and special costs. Extra costs can only be deducted from the tax, if you also pay taxes, advertising costs on the other hand you get refunded, if you do not pay taxes.

My question now, were the travel costs, which are € 0.30 per kilometer to be compensated, advertising costs or special costs? So I get it refunded, even if I do not pay taxes. And secondly, how about the laptop, it was said, since you can't prove whether it is used for study or self-purpose, only half will get refunded. How about that?

The social contribution that you pay per semester belongs to promotional or special costs

Fl

Tax refunds can only get if you pay taxes.

Travel costs are advertising costs.

And you get these 30 cents per kilometer not paid, the sum that comes together over the year, reduces the income taxpayer "income", which then leads to tax refund.

But you only need to submit if you come with the advertising costs on the Werbekostenpauschaule, which automatically takes into account the FA of 1000 Euro (Single).

El

It said that you do not have to pay taxes for the advertising costs. So I would not get the advertising costs refunded until I pay taxes as it will be deducted from the cost. But that was only for the special costs.

Whether or not you can claim your expenses as income-related expenses or special expenses depends on whether or not your studies qualify as initial education: https://www.mystipendium.de/studienfinanzierung/erststudium-werbungskosten

For a student write a lot of crazy stuff. Taxes can only be refunded if which are paid. Advertising costs are not refunded. Google times to special issues (referred to you as special costs), information you can still search as a student?

Expenditure for a first degree course are special expenses, expenses for a continuing study income-related expenses.

So I get it refunded, even if I do not pay taxes

Tax Offices do not reimburse the expenses of the study, but overpaid taxes.

Provided that expenses are income-related expenses, there may be a loss carry-forward that will reduce your income in the coming years, which in turn may result in a tax refund.

That's wrong here. The so-called loss carryforward can be summed up with students, so that after the first correct annual salary (for example, 40,000 euro gross) this income is deducted!

Say the FS has during its 2nd training, e.g. Master, cost of 20000 euro piled.

So the FS for his first salary would not pay on the 40000 euro tax, but on the 20000 euro! Which will mean that the FS will have a lot more net at the end.

To the FS: In order to be able to deduct income, you have to be in your secondary education! (Master or study after your first training!)

If you are in the undergraduate and postgraduate education, you can't deduct any cost of employment.

@klausbacsi:

Here you have a source for it. Especially because students usually pay no taxes, they use the advantageous loss brought forward!

The next time I would say that you should not be so condescending, if you have no idea about the subject, write here only nonsense and the accusations I would also leave.

I do not think that klausbacsi has commented condescendingly here. But from a student one may expect a little more mental achievement. The comment is not wrong.
