I have a laptop with only one HDMI output. I bought two Philips 223S7EJMB monitors. The idea was: I connect my laptop to monitor 1 via HDMI and the monitors to each other with DisplayPort. Unfortunately, Monitor 2 is not recognized.
Is that possible somehow? Or do I need a docking station after all?

Install the Graka driver
This is only possible if the monitors are made for chain and your laptop supports multichannel streaming
For daisy chaining, the monitors have to support that too - and you have to use DisplayPort to address the first monitor…
Since you don't name the whole model and Google spat out https://www.philips.de/c-p/223S7EHMB_00/lcd-monitor-mit-softblue-technology under "223S" - which only has VGA and HDMI - you can probably forget it.
So twice this one:
Philips S-line 223S7EJMB 54 cm (21.5 inch) LED monitor (VGA, HDMI, DisplayPort, USB, 1920 x 1080 pixels)
My computer is this one:

The computer has DisplayPort, but I don't read anything about daisy chaining on the monitors
