The following situation: I was on my iPhone yesterday and was on WhatsApp, suddenly my Wi-Fi no longer worked. Since it often happens with us that the Wi-Fi is simply gone, I just turned on my mobile data. Everything worked until my mobile data stopped working, it was probably just empty. My sister then turned on her hotspot and I connected to it. But my internet still didn't work. The thing is that my parents and my brother's Wi-Fi works at home (all three have a Samsung) but it doesn't work for me and my 2 sisters (all three of us have an iPhone) I think it's because of the iPhone. (but the Wi-Fi is still working on my iPad and my laptop)
Maybe your Wi-Fi will be limited with a timer… Your parents could set the device xy in the router between 7 p.m. And 6 a.m., so that the children don't hang around on the cell phone all day:-)
So you have 2 options:
Either the "tap" to the Internet has been turned off - that means the access has been blocked - you can still see the WLAN symbol
or the router has to be restarted, maybe it has "air" in the line.
Have you all done the latest update for your iPhones? Settings → General → Software update
We have iOS 14.01
The thing is that my sisters are only here to visit for a few days. One is 28 and the other is 30
And even if why does my Wi-Fi not work when my sister turns on the hotspot
:)) … Ok then it should be another problem… Which router and which cell phone exactly:-). But that is very likely to be a problem with the router or your device, especially if the Wi-Fi is always gone… It's hard to say what exactly the problem is
