Adult maintenance, special needs?

I'm 19 and had to move out of home in October 2020 for my studies. My parents are divorced.

In the course of moving and starting my studies, I had to pay a lot of costs, including bail (deposit insurance, etc., goods not possible!), Teaching aids (laptop, …), furniture and initial set-up, as well as the moving costs themselves (rental car and fuel ).

Now my question; which of these can I claim as a special requirement? My father takes a stand and says he doesn't want to participate in anything.

Why do you need furniture, for example? Surely you had a bed and a desk at home too. You could have taken it with you.

Student dormitories are usually furnished with the basic equipment.

According to my information, there are no special needs for adult maintenance. Above all, it wasn't a surprising event. The move was predictable.

Both parents are dependent on you - depending on your income. From these payments you would also have had to pay for the move, etc.

You may be able to seek volunteer help from the parents.

My furniture was very old and had to be disassembled and reassembled several times, which is why it was very stressful. They were just broken. Of course I took some furniture with me, but of course I didn't have kitchen furniture, bathroom furniture, etc. All dormitories are full and I'm not required to live in one. I'm not suitable for a flat share. Apartments for students in the city would have been more expensive than the apartment I have now.

I would argue that an acceptance 1 month before the start of your studies is rather less predictable. Furthermore, my father has not paid any maintenance since June 2019, which is why it was not really possible to save. I first had to sue for maintenance and after 1.5 years of legal proceedings I was not received until the beginning of 2021.

Then you now have this amount available.

Unfortunately, studying costs more than 1500 euro.

If my son had sued me, I would only pay him what I was sentenced to do. Not a cent more.

Understandable. Unfortunately, none of this came from me. An out-of-court settlement was not possible on his part.
