Excel file illegible in editor?

I recently deleted an Excel file on my laptop.
After a long search on my PC I found an editor file with the appropriate name.

Unfortunately the file is illegible.

so:

Could you save it now and restore it as an Excel file?

If it was an Excel file, make a copy of the file and rename it so that it has the file extension of an Excel file (.xlsx).

Then try opening them with Excel.
