I have pre-installed an old Asus laptop (P50IJ) with Windows 7.
Now I would like to throw down Windows 7 and reinstall XP. Just want my laptop not…
As soon as I start formatting and the PC restarts, this message appears:
"Windows has detected a problem communicating with a device connected to the computer.
This error may be caused by disconnecting a removable storage device (e.g., a USB drive) during use of the device or by faulty hardware (e.g., an unresponsive hard drive or a CD-ROM drive). Make sure all removable storage devices are properly connected and restart the computer… "
There's nothing connected to the laptop, except the power and there are no other devices installed.
What can I do?
Load the installation file onto a USB stick and boot the PC over those. Then you should be able to set up the PC with the USB again
I only have an old XP CD…
Unfortunately, that did not work with the USB stick… I changed the priority so that it first goes over the USB stick - which it does not do.
