Hall, I have an old hard drive that I would like to connect to my notebook to get data over. But which cable do I need for this? Unfortunately it is not USB.
You need a Sata to USB adapter. E.g. https://www.amazon.de/...016UBXH3O/
Why can you see the charging connector in the first picture? Doesn't it come in anywhere?
It depends on how old the hard drive is. If it still has a lot of individual pins in 2 rows, it is ancient, so it is hardly worth it.
Otherwise, the best thing to do is get a USB hard drive case; you will lack accessible SATA ports on your laptop. Such housings are not expensive and then protect the hard drives from damage to the boards. For the larger 3.5 "hard drives you get a suitable power supply with the housing, with the smaller 2.4" laptop hard drives you can also supply them with power directly via the USB connection.
Is that a housing? https://www.amazon.de/...016UBXH3O/
3.5 "hard drives require extra power, there's a power supply for this. 2.5" hard drives do not need this.
PC or laptop hard drive? With the 2.5 "disks, a case (or if the print is enough from the case) for IDE or SATA, costs around 10 euro. With the 3.5" disks, the power supply via USB is probably not sufficient Housings also have a power supply.
You can also use something like this, but a screwed housing in which the hard disk is then installed is more secure:
This is not a charging connection, but the power supply for the operation of a 3.5 "hard drive.
Got one from a PC and one from the laptop
The PC hard drive is a Samsung HD200HJ and the laptop hard drive is a HITACHI HTS543216L9A300. Can I use it to read out the data? : https://www.amazon.de/...016UBXH3O/

Do the hard drives have two rows of contact pins (old, IDE) or already SATA?
With this adapter it doesn't matter which hard drive it is.
