Is a Macbook Air worth it? Teenager?
I'm 15 years old and will soon get a laptop also because of the school etc. But of course also for example Netflix or sims play😂😛 My question now, is it worth a macbook air for 1100 euro or is a laptop for 500 euro also good? Because with apple you pay of course for sen name and 1100 euro are not just a little money. And you have to remember that I'm only 15 and eig would not need any.
I would not buy me for 1000 euro, because for your purposes, so to research and so one for max. 500 euro.
Later, when you grow up, you can still buy one.
The new MBA has just built a coreM CPU with the 8210Y. A dual core with roughly 5W power. Such a CPU has in this price segment, nothing, really lost nothing.
To be precise, a cheaper, reasonably modern 500 euro laptop is under warranty stronger than the twice as expensive MBA.

Here you have a nice 17.3 inch laptop, so that the picture at Netflixen is not so small. The processor is quite good with its 4/8 cores. And the 1050ti is still enough for pc games in 1080p. Not for all in maximum detail, but for something like Sims loose. 8gb ram is enough in the price range and you have a ssd for a fast and fluid operation and a hdd as mass storage.
For Netflix, Sims etc. A device would be enough for 600-700 euro.
Incidentally, the fact that MacBooks are more expensive has little to do with the fact that they are better, especially when looking at performance, MacBooks are often significantly worse than other devices for the same price.
I would use a Ryzen processor, e.g. 2500U and integrated Vega graphics unit recommend that should be enough for Sims. If you want to play more demanding games, you should take a laptop with a dedicated graphics card, but that usually costs over 1000 euro.
The only advantage I get from Apple at school is that there are more and better programs for productivity. In addition, Apple devices are quite unpopular with thieves. But for you, a normal laptop should be more than enough. Why do you want a laptop and not a tablet?
